What to buy for everyone on your shopping list

‘Tis the season for festive music, clinking champagne glasses and last-minute gift shopping. Even if you make a list and check it twice, we all get stumped from time to time on what to buy that hard-to-shop-for BFF. We’ve got you covered: we love this time of year and keep our shop stocked with a hand-picked selection of unique items that make great gifts. Read our Holiday Gift Guide for some inspiration to help you find the perfect gift for…

The friend who has everything

It can be daunting to buy a gift for someone who seems to have it all, but the trick is to give them something they wouldn’t splurge on for themselves. Here are some key pieces we love to gift (and to receive!).
Wooden bowl, intricate statue and throw pillow

A handmade wooden bowl from Andrew Pearce is a thoughtful and versatile gift that can be used to serve at dinner parties or to showcase souvenirs on a coffee table. It’s the perfect gift for the chic design-minded friend whose home is littered with trinkets from her travels, or the hostess extraordinaire who loves to entertain.

If you know your recipient very well, consider surprising them with a unique figurine or statue that you know will complement their existing collection. A statue large or small that suits their style can be a meaningful keepsake. Our selection of eclectic artifacts spans a wide range of finishes and subjects, and our knowledgeable staff can help you find the perfect piece.

If you have a special message or memory to share, our customized throw pillows are the perfect custom token. As unique as they are comfortable, our accent pillows  are a great way to commemorate a special place, time or memory. They’ll be touched that you took the time to make something just for them.

An acquaintance or distant relative

The holidays can mean a rare reunion with a cousin you last saw at their college graduation or an uncle you only met once. Keeping thoughtful trinkets with broad appeal on hand will ensure you’re prepared for unexpected gifting opportunities.
Glassware, silverware and candle

Simon Pearce glassware in any shape, size or form is a welcome gift for everyone, whether you’re handing out engraved ornaments to all or tucking away an extra trinket to welcome the occasional unexpected guest. Each piece is handcrafted, resulting in unique details that make every creation one of a kind.

For a loved one whose tastes you don’t know well, our large selection of Mariposa tableware and picture frames is a treasure trove of sure-fire crowd-pleasers. A simple, elegant frame is a win for everyone, since it will be customized with an image they love (like the family holiday photo you’ll be taking together).

Semi-consumable, candles are always a welcome addition to even the most robust collection. The elegant scents imbued into Fleur’s glass-encased votives add extra oomph to any room. There’s always a Fleur candle burning in our shop, so stop by, experience the magic—and maybe grab a few for yourself while you’re shopping. We won’t tell.

An essential first impression

As families and friends combine in new ways, holiday events often include important first impressions. Whether you’re meeting a partner’s family, thanking a recent mentor or welcoming new neighbors, there may be someone on your holiday gift list whose style is hard to anticipate. Take this opportunity to give a gift that helps you get to know each other.

stack of books, serving bowls and champagne glass

Party conversation so often returns to reading lists because it’s fun to share authors and titles we love, and thrilling to find a new connection who shares your taste. Decorative books that reflect interests you and their recipient may share can help forge instant, meaningful connections and show tremendous thoughtfulness. We source books from across the country for their color, style and themes, so we guarantee you’ll leave our shop with a unique selection.

Serving trays—plural—are essentials in every home, especially for a host or hostess who may run out of platters during the very party you’re attending. Be the guest that comes to the rescue and shop our wide selection from Juliska and Mariposa for diverse styles that are as fashionable as they are functional.

There’s a tight turnaround between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, so a forward-thinking gift to make that midnight toast special is always appreciated. Simon Pearce glassware is an especially thoughtful indulgence. Pair it with your favorite bubbly to impress not only with your thoughtfulness, but also your impeccable taste.

Stop by our showroom to finish your shopping for those hard-to-please holdouts on your list, and grab a treat for yourself while you’re here. Our team of designers is always on hand to help you find the perfect gift to make this holiday season extra special.

Deck the Halls Your Way

Showcase your personal holiday style with unique, eye-catching design elements

Home decorated for christmas

Green holly, red ribbon and white snowflakes are classic, but there’s more than one holiday aesthetic that will make your home feel festive. Put your own spin on holiday decor by focusing on key sentimental pieces to anchor a theme that’s distinctly “you” — then extend that sentiment throughout your home with simple, elegant touches. The result is a cohesive look that integrates seamlessly with your year-round decor. Read on for our tips to make sure your personal style shines through the haze of red and green:

Find theme and focal point.

Just as each room of your home has a theme or a color scheme that anchors the look, find a unifying thread that ties your holiday elements together. Decide on a style, like modern, traditional or minimalist, as well as a color palette. Instead of traditional red and green, consider a monochromatic theme, stark blacks and whites, blush and metallics, or a warm spectrum of jewel tones. Pick your key focal points—like your mantelpiece, dining table, stair railing, or front door—and tuck in references to your theme, either its color or style, in other corners of your home. You don’t have to deck every hall in order to create a striking look.

Give your everyday pieces a holiday twist.

Swap out your typical white candlesticks for tapers or pillars in your holiday color scheme. Replace the fruit in your usual cloche or serving bowl with ornaments, pinecones or fairy lights. Change the covers on your throw pillows to align with the theme, or invest in a new tablecloth. Pull out tiered servers and cake stands to add height and interest to displays of family keepsakes. For a non-traditional wreath, showcase what you love: old Christmas cards, family photos or even your children’s small trucks, dolls or building blocks.

Bring the outside in

Freshen up your home by bringing the beauty of nature indoors. Live greenery brings in neutral hues and irresistibly festive fragrances. For a bigger pop of color, arrange branches and boughs with ribbon and ornaments around a statement piece like a vase or statue. Stack succulents on a tiered serving piece with ornaments interspersed, or line them up along a holiday-themed table runner. Relocate plants or forced bulbs, like paperwhites or amaryllis, into containers that reflect your theme, like a favorite holiday tin or mug, or wrap their existing pots in festive paper or ribbon.

Spotlight what you love

Think about what makes you happy and let that be the centerpiece of your holiday design concept. If you enjoy cooking, fill large glass jars with colored pasta, chestnuts, cinnamon sticks, and other snacks or treats you associate with the holidays. For vinophiles, a cork wreath or arrangement of festively-wrapped bottles will recall recent, meaningful toasts you’ve shared. Sheet music can be a beautiful accent for a music-lover, and a “tree” of stacked books for an avid reader is both a focal point and a conversation piece.

Who you are and what you love is what makes your house a home—especially during the holidays. Showcase your personal style by choosing decorations that underline your personal aesthetic.
